Moving to San Francisco

I recently moved to San Francisco, California to pursue a Master of International Marketing degree at Hult International Business School.  This first post will coincide with starting this new chapter in my life.

Saying goodbye to life in Edmonton was surprisingly easy.  I had been wanting to move and start a new adventure for a while and San Francisco was the perfect destination, as it is only a short flight away from home.  The most difficult part of the move was, of course, trying to pack all of my clothes, shoes and bags!  I overhauled my closet and donated ten garbage bags full of items to a local charity and four suitcases, two carryons and my Celine bag later, I was ready to bring the rest with me to California.

Before moving in to my apartment in San Francisco, my fiancé, Peter, and I visited some relatives in Vacaville, California.  We were also lucky enough to sneak in a trip to Napa Valley to stock up on wine for the new apartment.  We were limited on time, as we had a family dinner to attend that afternoon so we visited two wineries that we discovered back in 2013: Franciscan Estate and V. Sattui.  I’m already looking forward to returning to Napa soon to explore some new wines so if you know of any amazing wineries in the area, please comment below or tweet me!

I ran into some problems when initially trying to move in to my first apartment in the city, however, I am now settled in to a new place.  I will soon be posting photos for all of you who have asked.  If you are planning a move to San Francisco in the near future, I would love to try to help with any questions you may have!
